I’m an Army veteran in El Paso with a full-time job, and I’m the one-man team behind Operation Opportunity. This solo project is my way of helping local small businesses find a clearer starting point—whether you manage a crew, run a shop, or are finding a new mission after military service.
My wife, five pugs, and the backyard infantry
Fort Bliss was my last duty station, where I served with 1/1 AD as a 25Q. Both of my grandfathers also served in the military. My passions are coffee, animals, IT, gardening, and getting outdoors.
My loving wife—the boss—keeps our operation running. At home, we have five pugs: three rescues and one part demon. Add four infantry raptor chickens, and the backyard has its own chain of command. I’m still waiting to be promoted.
Small business is personal
My father was a small-business owner, too. Both of my in-laws are immigrants from different countries, and both own small businesses. My family’s experience helps me understand how hard it can be to find useful information in something that is actually easy to use.
I build and maintain this project around my full-time job. I want to keep the lights on and keep helping where I can. When available, paid subscriptions will help cover the cost of running the project, while a useful free version keeps opportunities within reach for people who cannot afford a subscription.
The enemy? Paperwork with a terrible user interface.

Government contracting already has enough hurry up and wait. Finding opportunities should not require a second career in browser-tab management.
My technical specialist? ChatGPT.
I teamed up with ChatGPT to help build this site: think of a slightly nerdy technical specialist with endless patience for debugging. I bring the mission, make the decisions and remain responsible for the project. The AI helps with the code; it does not outrank the small businesses we are here to help.

You remain in charge of your decisions, your bids, and the information you choose to share. We show where a listing came from and when it was checked. A helpful match is a starting point, never a promise of an award.
